Logitech extends Harmony line with Ultimate and Smart Control

Logitech comes up with two new universal remotes; the Harmony Ultimate and the Harmony Smart Control. The remote controls works together with a smartphone app, and can in addition to televisions and peripherals also Philips Hue lighting control.

The two remotes come with the Harmony Hub, which, among other bluetooth-enabled devices can be controlled. Logitech also reports that the Hub electronics via infrared control, even if it is in a closed cabinet. The operation can also be done via a smartphone or tablet expired; for both iOS and Android, Logitech apps made available.

The most expensive model, the Logitech Harmony Ultimate has the ability to up to 15 devices and features a touch screen with a screen diagonal of 2.4 inch. The touchscreen is haptic feedback and has a number of programmable buttons. The Harmony Ultimate will be out in may be available for a suggested retail price of 279 euro.

The little brother, the Logitech Harmony Smart Control, has largely the same functionality as the Harmony Ultimate, but a touch screen is missing. Also, the maximum number of supported devices is limited to eight. The price is also lower; for 129 euro is the Smart Control to obtain, also from may.

The new Harmony remotes come somewhat unexpected, because Logitech in January let us know that the Harmony line of the hand wanted to do. The director of Logitech then let know that customers with a Harmony remote support. Logitech then let however know, no new remote.
