Google has its Hangouts instant messaging service added the ability to the desktop with a contact, so that he or she, for example, technical support can carry out. The functionality only works in combination with Google Chrome.

The functionality is intended to help others with their computer, writes a developer from Google on his Google+account. During the parts of the desktop, users can simply continue to talk and chat. To prevent abuse, should explicit permission be given before the desktop is shared.

There are limitations to the functionality: both users on Google Chrome. In addition, a separate extension, Chrome Remote Desktop, is required to make the parts of the desktop as possible. The functionality works on Windows, Linux, OS X and Chrome OS.
