Mozilla comes with online payment api for Firefox OS

Mozilla has released the first version of an api release that should help to make to web applications to purchase on the Firefox OS platform. The WebPayment api is entirely open and must pay online via various methods easier.

To pay via the internet to simplify, Mozilla’s WebPayment api will be developed. The first version of the api, based on javascript, can now by web developers, for example, for the purchase of apps for the Firefox OS platform in the Firefox Marketplace.

The WebPayment api, which, incidentally, also usable for in-app purchases, is still very simple. By means of some javascript commands, navigator.mozPay() is called, a transaction may be initiated. Because the api only serves as a relay can, in principle, each type of payment system can be offered.

Mozilla argues that the WebPayment system is fully integrated into Firefox OS. In the longer term, it is also in the desktop versions of Mozilla browser and Firefox for Android smartphones. In addition to Mozilla within the W3C with other parties to discuss a final standard api for micro-payments.
