Dutch ordered last year 88 million times online, what amounts to 240.000 orders per day. That would appear from research that is carried out on behalf of special interest groups Thuiswinkel.org. Who orders together have a value of 9.8 billion euros.

The number of 88 million orders, an increase of 13 percent compared to the result from the same survey a year earlier, as claims Thuiswinkel.org on the basis of research among an unknown number of respodenten by Blue Research; the full report is not accessible to the public. It is therefore unclear how representative the study is.

If the results are representative, it means that in the Netherlands, 240.000 times per day in a shop an order is placed. The number of buyers has also increased. There are, according to the study, last year 400,000 people for the first time, on the internet ordered. The total number of Dutch people last year has made an order, would thus come true on 10.6 million.

The revenue that the orders represent increased by 9 percent, to 9.8 billion euros. The increase in revenue would come mainly through an increase of expenditures on products: the revenue increased by 12 percent. The revenue from sales of services, such as air travel and insurance, increased by 6 percent less hard. The revenue from music downloads increased by 27 percent to 103 million euros. Dutch gifts, according to the study, an average of 111 euros per order; 4 percent less than a year earlier.
