Nvidia claims that the new Nvidia Tegra 4-soc is two to three times faster than the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 600-soc. the manufacturer runs synthetic benchmarks on referentietablets during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

“The Nvidia Tegra4-soc is two to three times faster than the new Qualcomm 600-soc”, says Nvidia product marketing director Matt Wuebbling at Techcrunch. Nvidia stood that various sites referentietablets with the new Nvidia soc on different benchmarks prostrated, and the figures would need to prove that the new processor is very powerful.

At the benchmark Quadrant scores with the new processor more than 16,000 points. Tablets like the Google Nexus 10, with a relatively new 1.7 GHz dual-core Exynos processor, a score for this test is around 4500 points. The Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 from Asus, which uses a Nvidia Tegra 3 soc clocked at 1.6 GHz scores around 4500 points.

In AnTuTu, the new Tegra a score of more than 36,000 points, while the Nvidia Tegra 3 tablets here, scores of 8500 to 9000 points drop. Also Engadget ran benchmarks on the tablets with the Tegra 4 processors. That site has comparable scores for the Tegra 4, but it is reported AnTuTu scores for the Tegra 3 tablets from around the 11,000 a 12,000 points.

CFBench was also rotated by Engadget, and this was achieved a score of slightly more than 41.000 points. The Sony Xperia Z runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro soc, with four Krait-processor cores at 1.5 Ghz pulled in the tests with Tweakers around 14.000 points. The new Snapdragon 600-soc should be around 40 percent better performance than Snapdragon S4 Pro, but Nvidia claims that the Tegra 4 despite this, more powerful.

The results need some comments. The tablets, which Nvidia at the Mobile World Congress has run primarily synthetic benchmarks, which may have been optimized for the Tegra 4-soc and have little to say about the performance in practice. Benchmarks such as Quadrant and AnTuTu are systeembenchsmarks that their score build from all sorts of variables, that influence.

If the Tegra 4 at 825MHz is running, it offers the same performance as a Tegra 3 that runs at 1.6 GHz, but he has as much as 40% less power consumption reports Anandtech.

Earlier this month claimed Qualcomms chief marketing officer Anand Chandrasekher in an interview with TechPulse 360, that the Snapdragon 600 and Snapdragon 800 better performance than the Nvidia Tegra 4-soc. “Tegra 4 brings nothing interesting or new compared to the Qualcomm S4 Pro processors,” says Chandrasekher.

Update Tuesday, 10:15: In the article we reported that manufacturers have no hardware with Tegra 4 announced, probably lay to the power consumption. We wrote that the Tegra 4 had to be teruggeklokt to 825MHz to the same power as the Tegra 3 to have the same performance.
