Microsoft releases Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 from

Microsoft has released Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 released. The browser was already available in Windows 8, but has now also found its way into Windows 7. Vista and XP are not supported. Windows XP was already an update to Internet Explorer 9.

To Internet Explorer 10 to be able to run at least Service Pack 1 on Windows 7 required. There are two versions of the browser to download; a 32bit and a 64bit edition. It is striking that the 64bit-download not use two different browsers to install. Previously, on 64bit editions of Windows separate 32bit and 64bit versions of Internet Explorer installed.

According to task manager there at the start of IE10 on a 64-bit version of Windows 7 two iexplore.exe-processes start: a 32bit browser and a 64bit-Internet Explorer 10 Manager. For each tab the browser to start a new 32bit process. Through a registertweak can browserschermen also in 64bit mode. As add-ons, no 64bit support, this can, according to Microsoft, however, compatibility issues lead.

Internet Explorer 10 provides, according to Microsoft, better support for html5 and css 3. Also, the browser can better cope with touchbediening. The browser is also developed especially with a view to use in the touch-oriented Windows 8.
