AMD has its new Turbo Dock for a ‘hybrid pc’s’ is announced. Thanks to Turbo Dock would be AMD’s new A6-1450-apu for tablets perform better, when in a dock. The technology ensures that the clock speed is increased.

The A6-1450 is the first apu from AMD’s Temash series and also the first apu that the chipmaker especially for ‘hybrid pc’s’ is intended. With hybrid pc indicates AMD tablet in a dock is clicked. The A6 apu combines a 1GHz quad-core cpu and a Radeon HD 8280 gpu which is at 300MHz tap. AMD’s Turbo Dock provides a standard that ensures that the cpu is 1.4 GHz and the gpu at 500MHz will run when the tablet in a special dock is inserted. According to AMD, would the higher clock speed an performance gains of 40 percent. The higher clock frequencies are possible because of a dock with Turbo Dock support additional cooling for the apu. With the standard additional cooling distinguishes AMD from software-based techniques, which, depending on the needs of the user, the cpu’s higher and lower clocks.

Benchmarks of the new apu are not yet known, but according to AMD provides the cpu in the A6-1450 60 percent higher performance than the AMD Z-60 apu, which the company in October 2012 announced plans. The HD 8280 gpu in the A6-1450 would be even twice as fast as the Z-60’s integrated Radeon HD 6250. In 3DMark 06 it scores the new apu 2624 points; significantly more than 451 points that the Intel Atom Z2760. This soc by AMD as the direct competitor labeled.

In addition to Turbo Dock announced AMD also three new software features that are exclusive to the upcoming Richland and Temash-apus. The most interesting is the AMD Screen Mirror, which ensures that the image on the tablet or computer via dlna to compatible dmr devices streamed can be. The receiving device must also be on h.264 and aac support, and performance depends on the network speed.

In addition to Screen Mirror has AMD Face Login and Gesture Control announced. Both of these techniques are also exclusive to the Richland and Temash-apus, and do anything on the basis of the name of them may be expected. Face Login in Windows login and passwords to autocomplete on Internet Explorer 9 and 10. Gesture Control works in conjunction with a webcam and allows the user to select a number of application with gestures to operate. Applications that are currently supported are Microsoft Powerpoint, Windows Photo Viewer and Adobe Acrobat Reader. Also Windows 8 apps are supported; Microsoft Photos, Music, Reader, and Kindle can with the gebarensoftware of AMD be controlled. At the Mobile World Congress, 25 February, will AMD the features to demonstrate.
