Python calls in the help of his community, now a British hoster try to use the trademark on the name Python to claim. To users of the opensourceprogrammeertaal is asked to prove that the brand name already for the language is used.

The British hosting provider Pobox had the domain name Python.co.uk for a longer time in his administration, but referred traffic to that domain until recently due to its own website. Recently, it started the hoster however, with the use of the name Python for a new hosting service. When the organization behind the Python programming language there objected to it, recorded Pobox the brand name Python in Europe.

According to Python is its own trademark registration is not yet ‘mature enough’, though it is unclear what is meant. However, it is certain that Python now register a trademark in Europe is likely to lose. Therefore, ask the organization to prove that it was the name already used for a long time. European companies and companies with operations in the European Union that Python bets, are therefore asked to make a declaration to send in which they indicate Python to use, and to confirm that the word Python, the opensourcetaal is intended. Also references to Python as a programming language in books, magazines and other publications as evidence to be submitted.
