Blog site Posterous closes the doors

Posterous has announced that the its services by april 30, be lwa up. The blogdienst says that users of their ‘Spaces’, yet up to this time can download to avoid content lost. Posterous was last year acquired by Twitter.

As the reason for closing the doors, said Posterous that want to completely focus on the work for Twitter. Therefore, it seems that the microbloggingdienst has determined that Posterous closed. From 30 april it is no longer possible to blog posts on your site and this also not more. Users who do not want their content is lost, a backup of their profile requesting them as zip-file will be sent to you.

Almost a year ago, Posterous was acquired by Twitter. When it appeared that Twitter mainly was interested in the development team behind Posterous. What was paid for the acquisition is not disclosed.
