The American company Supertalent has some new msata ssd’s announced. It comes to the msata 3-series, with a size of at least 30GB and a maximum of 120GB. The ssd’s would be meant for tablets, but can of course also in laptops to be processed.

Very flush is Supertalent with information about the new ssds. All formats would read and write speeds, respectively, of 550MBps and 500MBps can be achieved. Depending on the model is asynchronous or synchronous flash memory is used, which via an unknown controller on the sata 600 bus, the processor communicates. Supposedly it goes by the way of a Sandforce 2281 controller, since Supertalent especially that controller bet for its high-end ssds, while other series use the Jmicron 616 controller.

The ssds are intended to be used as upgrade for netbooks, or tablets with an ssd in it. When the drives are for sale, and for what price, Supertalent is not yet known. Many msata ssd’s of 120GB or 128GB that is currently already on sale costs less than 100 euro.
