Microsoft reportedly has the start-up R2 Studios acquired. This company is specialized in home automation and works, among other ways to get content from devices to tvs. Microsoft should R2 Studios, part want to make his Xbox-branch.
Microsoft has made the acquisition yet to be confirmed. The company that acquired, id8 Group R2 Studios in may 2011, was founded by Blake Krikorian, who previously was involved in the creation of Sling Media, known for the Slingbox. The founder goes on at Microsoft with a small team to work with the Xbox business unit, writes the Wall Street Journal. R2 brought up to now only an Android app for home automation control. This earned the company between 35.000 and 70.000 euro.
R2 Studios would rather be in conversation with Apple and Google about a possible acquisition. For the companies include some of the patents of R2 Studios with respect to the operation of electronic devices interesting. It is not known what the consideration is that Microsoft would have paid.
