Bittorrent makes downloading torrents via Chrome-extension possible

BitTorrent has a file name extension for Chrome was released which allows users to directly from their browser torrents download. The software also features a search function and is now available as alpha version.

The Chrome extension is known under the name Surf and can free of charge from the Web Store of Google to download. It is still an experimental version, with BitTorrent also has plans to eventually have a version for Firefox. The softwarebouwer hopes with the alpha version comment to collection of users in order the plugin to be able to improve.

With Surf, it is possible to use the browser as a torrentclient to use. There is a search function built in that automatically torrentsites searches, but it is also possible to manually select the websites to add which should be searched. Furthermore, there is still the possibility for content that is downloaded, such as music and videos, directly from the Surf-plugin to play.

It is still unclear when BitTorrent intends the final version of the plugin. When the release of Surf for Firefox will follow is also unclear.
