Apple has the Java plug-in on OS X is blocked after a vulnerability is discovered. The software of Oracle is on a blacklist, and will probably only be unblocked if the vulnerability by Oracle is fixed.

That discovered Macrumors, which is a reference to the blockade of the Java plug-in found in Xprotect.plist-file. It is a Java version is required that does not yet exist, thereby effectively existing Java plug-ins are blocked. Apple carried out the blockade by using an update to the Xprotect.plist file, something that works for users of Mac OS X, version 10.6 and higher. In older versions Java manually be uninstalled.

Although there are no official statement is issued, it is likely that the blockage is made after a vulnerability is discovered in Java. That suggests attackers are using an exploit undetected to install software on the computer of the user. Earlier, it was already out that the leak may already be being abused. Previously deleted Apple already has the plug-ins for Java from the browser, making it no longer by default installed. Also makes Java since version 10.7 are no longer part of OS X.

As a result of the discovery of the vulnerability in Java, the American government has advised to not use Java any more. The government agency US-CERT recommends, as well as under the Dutch government, users on the conscious plug-ins in their browsers to turn off.
