Sharp presents the first smartphone with igzo-lcd

The Japanese telefonieaanbieder NTT DoCoMo has released the first phones with Sharps latest beeldschermtechologie released. The Sharp Aquos Phone Zeta has a display with igzo technology, a clearer picture should give.

Sharps new display is made with igzo, short for indium-gallium-zinc oxide, that electricity has better conductivity than the commonly used silicon. The transistors of the lcd can therefore be made smaller, allowing the backlight to better the pixels to illuminate. That should on the one hand, savings for the backlight problem and on the other hand, brighter displays. Sharp processed the igzo technology in its display, the Aquos Phone Zeta SH-02E; that display has a diagonal screen size of up to 4.9-inches and has 1280 by 720 pixels.

The Aquos smartphone is also equipped with the APQ8064, a quad-core-Snapdragon S4 soc from Qualcomm with a clock speed of 1.5 GHz, and an Adreno 320 gpu. The phone has a 16-megapixel camera, supports tv, wi-fi and nfc. The unit is in a water – and dustproof enclosure of 68 millimeters wide, 135-millimeter-high design and a 9.8 mm thick and weighs 150 grams. A 2320mAh battery supplies the required energy. Or the device outside of Japan comes on the market, is not known. It is more likely that the igzo-beeldschermtechniek outside of Japan available in other devices with Sharp displays.
