Belgacom begins on 5 november with its 4g offer. Customers in five cities ‘heavy’ coverage, while in a further nine towns and cities the coverage is ‘good’, according to the Belgian provider. The 4g network is not available in Brussels.

The 4g network is already there since last year, but can only be used by business customers. From the 5th of november can also provide consumers with a subscription. The 4g network will according to ZDNet, working in Antwerp, Ghent, Leuven, Liège, Namur, Hasselt, Mons, Waver and Haasrode. Brussels is not included because of the stralingseisen in the capital.

Belgacom works with 4g through network technology lte on 1800MHz, the most common frequency. This supports the iPhone 5 lte on the network of Belgacom. Later, there are other phones such as the Nokia Lumia 920 and a customized version of the Samsung Galaxy Note II.

Prices and details of the subscriptions are still unclear; presumably, Belgacom is soon to be known.
