According to the Taiwanese government would have citizens more HTC phones to buy, to the smartphonefabrikant as support. The call comes shortly after the Taiwanese manufacturer again disappointing quarterly results announced.

Minister Shih Yen-shiang, Taiwan responsible for economic affairs, called on Taiwanese citizens to HTC to help: according to the minister would countrymen more HTC phones to use. The minister had also know that the government is closely involved with HTC, but gave no further explanation. The pronunciation of Shih Yen-shiang was, incidentally, a lot of criticism, in which HTC was accused of focusing too much to advertise itself as a Chinese company, instead of Taiwanese. Between the two countries, it is a lot of political tension.

Another kritiekpunt is that HTC some time ago started selling the One S in its home country, but it is a processor from an older generation: while the international version was equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon soc out of the S4 series, got the version in Taiwan an soc from the S3 series. HTC, this would not be sufficient to have made clear and therefore a little ‘patriotism’ have shown, so is the criticism.

HTC presented last quarter, disappointing figures, which are mainly due to the disappointing sales of the One series. Also in the two quarters, this was not good and ran the profit back. In 2011, it broke the manufacturer, however, several sales records.
