HP Envy x2 tablet and Spectre XT TouchSmart-ultrabook – update

HP has during the IFA three new ultrabooks announced, the Envy x2 is a tablet with the docking station. The Spectre XT is a high-end model, with a 15″ips touch screen that has 1920×1080 pixels.

The Envy x2 is reminiscent of the Asus Transformer models, but also differs on some important points. So is the screen up to 11.6″ wide, so we almost can speak of a netbook, since the tablet has an Intel processor onboard. It comes to Clover Trailer, a very economical variant of Intel’s Atom chips. The screen would have a brightness of 400 nits, which makes the Envy x2 also outside can be used. The docking station provides a usb 3.0 and an hdmi port, as well as extra battery capacity. The Spectre XT TouchSmart Ultrabook is HP’s new high-end model, with a notable spec is the 15.6 inch large full hd touch screen. The laptop weighs 2,16 kg, a bit on the heavy side for an ultrabook, and is 18mm thick. The laptop is equipped as standard with an ssd, usb 3.0, gigabit ethernet and a thunderbolt port. As a bonus, HP will provide Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements, the software that together soon 150 euro cost. The laptop costs a minimum of 1400 dollars.

A cheaper alternative is the HP Envy TouchSmart Ultrabook 4 with a 14″touchscreen, with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. HP leaves in the middle whether this is an ips panel.
