There are photos online appeared of nikon’s first compact camera on the basis of the Android operating system. The camera would feature a 3.5″ oled screen and a zoom lens of a yet unknown range.

Earlier this month appeared rumors about the new nikon Coolpix, which is likely the model number S800 is going to get. The website Nikon Rumors has the first images of the device in the hands. From those images – and the previous rumors is that the camera on the 2.3 version of the Android operating system will run. This is somewhat out of date; at the end of 2011, version 4.0, and June, Google unveiled version 4.1 of the OS.

The screen is probably of the oled type, has a screen diagonal of 3.5″ and is in all probability touch-sensitive. Nikon used previously in the Coolpix S80 and S100 cameras a 3.5-inch-oled-touch-screen. Beside the screen are three physical buttons to be seen.

At the front, see the S800 look like a regular compact camera, but the photos show some differences, and that the final specifications of the camera are still unclear. In one picture, a lens with 12x optical zoom, while other photos with a lens shows with only 3x optical zoom. Also, the enclosures are not quite the same; it may be that the company with more models on the market will come.

The camera could have gps, wi-fi, and can handle the apps from Googles Play Store. Thus, it should be possible to share photos directly to share on social networks, or send it via e-mail. The official introduction of the Android-camera Wednesday as expected.
