Samsung will repair hairline cracks in the Galaxy S III under warranty. That says the manufacturer in a statement to Tweakers.net. According to the manufacturer, the damage is rare. The cause of the cracks in the housing is not clear.
Samsung will repair the damage under warranty. “If the S III users small cracks in the housing encounter that go beyond normal wear and tear, they can contact the store or with us,” says spokeswoman Vivian Peters opposite Tweakers.net. It is not damage that a lot of devices occurs. “We have a small number of reports received.”
The cause of the damage is, however, unknown. “As soon as we have the corresponding devices have received, we investigate this to determine the exact cause of the cracks to determine.” Samsung released its flagship Galaxy S III in late may. The smartphone runs on Android 4.0, and has a Samsung Exynos 4 Quad processor. The Super Amoled HD screen has a diagonal of 4.8″ and a resolution of 1280×720 pixels.
Update Friday, 13:11: A user reports that the repair in detail. The edge seems to be no loose edge, but is the backplate of the screen, so the entire screen needs to be replaced.
