Plextor new M5 Pro ssd will be announced. The solid state drive contains the new 88SS9187 controller from Marvell, which is 19nm toggle-mode-nandgeheugen of Toshiba drives. The drive comes in a 128GB-, 256GB and 512GB model.

According to Plextor, the M5 Pro’s sequential read and write speeds of get, respectively, of 540MBps and 450MBps. When non-sequential read and writes, would be the drive over 94,000 and 86,000 iops. A special feature in the controller, Plextor True Speed Technology’, should prevent the performance drop as the drive longer time in use and the memory chips all have already been described. The ssd makes use of mlc memory from Toshiba that the toggle-mode ddr standard supports and 19nm manufactured.

The Plextor M5 contains Marvells 88SS9187 controller, which in march of this year, was announced, but this summer only finds its way to different sdd’s. The controller allows per channel at a speed of 200MBps pick up and has support for ddr3 memory, up to 1GB can be used for cachingdoeleinden. It is also possible for the data on the drive is hardware encrypted with a 256-bit encryption.

The new M5 Pro ssd’s should be available later this month in capacities of 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. Prices are not yet known.
