Developer platform GitHub has an investment in the value of one hundred million dollars accepted from investeerdersfonds Andreessen Horowitz. The company hopes to be able to expand and more platforms to operate.
The investment is the first that GitHub has ever adopted and the largest that Andreessen Horowitz has ever done. Previously crossed the investeerdersfonds all the money in other internet start-ups, such as Twitter, Skype, Facebook, Groupon and Zynga.
The founders of GitHub want to use the money to more developers in the service and to expand to other platforms. Peter Levine, of the investment company Andreessen Horowitz, will join the board of GitHub.
GitHub, founded in april 2008, has in four years grown to a company with more than hundred employees, while the turnover each year, with 300 percent increased. GitHub currently has 1.9 million users.
