EA wants to continue Kingdoms of Amalur publishing

Electronic Arts would like a sequel to rpg Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning on the market. Developer 38 Studios, however, bankrupt. Who has the rights to the game in your hands, is not yet clear. They are now in the hands of the government.

Frank Gibeau, head of the various labels that publisher Electronic Arts has suggested in the magazine GameInformer that he would like a sequel to Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning on the market. “I think it is very unfortunate is how everything is unpacked for 38 Studios,” said Gibeau. “We saw a lot of creativity and vision to the team. We found the game amazing and the game got good grades. We have done good business and I hope that a sequel comes. That we would like to be on the market.”

Electronic Arts, however, own not the rights to the game. That are in the hands of 38 Studios, the studio that since may is in financial trouble. The staff of both 38 Studios and Big Huge Games, the studio that in 2009 took over, was dismissed after the company, the loan that the of the state of Rhode Island had received, could not redeem. The state is the largest creditor and thus claim the rights to the title. The largest part of the staff of Big Huge Games was acquired by Epic Games, that is around the team a new studio in Baltimore to open.
