EA suing Zynga because of ‘kopi lwa run” of The Sims Social

EA has filed a lawsuit against game developer Zynga. The latter is accused by EA released game The Sims Social to have copied with the Facebook game The Ville.

In a statement on its website claims to EA that The Ville is a “blatant copy” of The Sims Social. Zynga would have been found guilty of copying several design elements, animations and character traits of game characters. An inexperienced user would not see any differences between the two games, says EA, which is a complaint of copyright infringement submitted to a court in the Us state of California.

Zynga is often accused of copying games, but many developers would not have the financial means to bring an action to submit the opinion of EA. Therefore hopes the game publisher that the lawsuit due to copyrightinbreuk something contributes to other companies. EA calls itself no examples, but of several developers, it is known that they have complained to Zynga.

As a reaction from Zynga on The Verge to let us know that The Ville is a successor of his earlier Facebook games CityVille and CastleVille, which negates the game to have copied from EA. In addition, Zynga that The Sims Social is very at CityVille-game seems.

EA released The Sims Social, a Facebook version of The Sims franchise, in August of last year. Zynga came in June with The Ville, a game in which players have to deal with the building of a house and career for the characters in the game. The gameplay is comparable to The Sims series.
