AMD cuts prices on HD 7000 series

The American chip maker AMD lowers prices of its graphics cards. As of July 16, reduces the prices of the latest cards from the Radeon series. Previously released AMD new drivers to the performance of the video cards to improve.

Almost all video cards of the AMD Radeon HD series will be reduced in price. The HD 7970 gets the smallest discount of twenty dollars. The HD 7950 and the HD 7870 will be fifty dollars cheaper, that writes AnandTech.

This allows AMD to compete with, among others, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 670. The video card from Nvidia is faster, but by the price reduction of AMD are also more expensive than the HD 7950. The price difference is due to the recent fall in the price at fifty dollars.

AMD let it know that the HD 7970 GHz Edition will be available soon. The video card would be at the end of June though limited to purchase are, however, AMD’s partners have decided to design their own, to use in place of AMD’s referentieontwerp. This means that the HD 7970 GHz Edition with some delay. Sapphire and XFX would be the following week all of cards on the shelves.

Earlier this month, brought AMD new drivers. The new drivers are compatible with all Radeon models, the HD 2400 series. The new drivers are available for Linux, Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 and both 32 – and 64-bit environment.
