More than a third of new cars have start/stop system

In 2011 was 35 percent of all new cars in the Netherlands equipped with start/stop system and in Belgium lwa even 40 percent. Next year would be in Europe completed. n on the two new cars have such a system standard on board.

According to Bosch, a growing number of cars that is equipped with the fuel-saving system; in 2008, only 3 percent of the cars are equipped with start/stop technology, while in 2009 and 2010, the share amounted to, respectively, 13 and 22 percent. Last year in the Netherlands, 35 percent of all sold cars with a start/stop system are fitted, while in Belgium the share in 2011, even though 40 percent would be located. The manufacturers would in 2013, even one in the two cars with the start/stop want to rest.

With a start/stop system stops the engine automatically if it is stopped and when the driver press the clutch the engine started again. The system, which is especially useful when files and stadsritjes, would the fuel consumption and the related CO2-emissions by an average of 5 to 8 percent can reduce.

Bosch will in the future start/stop-system refine. So would the engine can be stopped when the car drops down to eventually coming to a halt, for example when approaching a red traffic light. Also would the engine can be disabled if the driver is no longer accelerating. Therefore, the fuel savings can reach up to 10 percent.
