Bing Maps gets 165TB of new satellite and aerial imagery

Microsoft has to be kaartendienst Bing Maps 165TB of data are added. It comes to satellite imagery and photos taken from planes are made. Large parts of the world are now using satellite pictures to view on Microsoft’s kaartendienst.

According to Microsoft, it’s in terms of visuals to the biggest update ever for Bing Maps. Previously, the company used for its kaartendienst ‘only’ 129TB of data, while there is now 165TB. From all parts of the world, images added, which has a total of 38 million square kilometers of earth surface cover.

Microsoft makes Bing Maps use of satellite images, but also aerial photos added from the aircraft are taken. The company from Redmond has a special card displayed where on earth new aerial imagery are added. Incidentally, were such images of the Netherlands is already longer available.

Bing Maps gets at the end of this year, an update: then, amongst others, satellite images and aerial photographs in the whole of Europe are available. Microsoft let us know currently working on gathering the necessary footage.
