A-data introduces two new msata ssds

The company A-data has two ssd’s announced that in an msata socket set can be. The XPG SX300 has a sata600 interface, while the Premier Pro SP300 is suitable for msata sockets with a sata300 interface.

According to A-data knows the XPG SX300 sequential read and write speeds to achieve, respectively, 550 and 505MBps. At 4K writes would be 85,000 iops may be obtained. The msata ssd will be on the market come with storage capacities of 64GB, 128GB and 256GB, with recommended prices of respectively 90, 150 and 300 dollars.

The Premier Pro SP300, the sata300 interface read and write speeds reach 280 and 260MBps, while the maximum iops in random 4K writes, at almost 46,000. A-data brings the msata ssds, the Premier Pro-series with storage capacities of 24GB, 32GB and 64GB, and prices of, respectively, 50, 60 and 80 dollar.

Both ssd’s are powered by a SandForce controller and will not support the trim function. According to A-data is there in the used firmware, no over-provisioning is applied, which, on average, 7 percent more storage capacity would be available than other ssd’s with a SandForce controller. If and when the ssd’s available in Europe, is not yet known.
