Buffalo introduces new nas-systems

Buffalo has two new nas systems for small businesses released. The TeraStation 5200 and 5400 can accommodate respectively two and four hdd’s, are equipped with an Atom D2550-dual-core and feature usb 3.0.

The TeraStation 5400 is the new top model in the 5000 series of Buffalo and the four hot-swappable hdd’s in configurations up to raid 5 to be controlled. The TeraStation 5200 has only two drive bays and raid 1 if highest raid mode.

The two nas systems are equipped with an Atom D2550-dual-core and 2GB of ddr3 memory. The dualcore running at a clock speed of 1.86 GHz and with four threads at the same time handle. The storage systems of Buffalo are also two gigabit ethernetaansluitingen and four usb ports, including two usb 3.0 variants.

In addition to the usual nas devices, the TeraStation 5400 and 5200 with functionality for small and medium-sized enterprises. As a iscsi-target-ability, replication of data to other TeraStation devices, supported active directory and the nas systems come with ten licenses for the Novabackup Business Essentials v12 software for data backup of sql and Exchange servers.

Buffalo provides the TeraStation 5400 and 5200 only in combination with the disks. For example, the TeraStation 5400 is available in configurations with a total of 4 to 16TB of storage, while the 2bay-nas comes with a total storage capacity of up to 8TB. The two nas system are immediately available through a select number of distributors and retailers.
