Philips introduces usb powered 22″monitor

Philips released its latest business monitor from the S-series was released. A unique feature of the 22″monitor is that he has only a single cable is needed for both the power supply and the video signal; a usb 2.0 cable is sufficient.

The 221S3UCB has a 22″monitor with just one connection for a usb 2.0 cable. Through that cable, the video signal is supplied, that the 1920 by 1080 pixels of the screen can be controlled. The cable also supplies the energy required for the led-screen; a separate power supply and adapter are not required. In addition, older laptops or pc’s two usb pooorten may need to have enough power to be able to deliver and, if applicable, a separate power supply available. According to Philips, the screen only eight or nine watts, which is possible thanks to the energy-saving led-backlight.

The screen can be tilted, rotated and adjusted in height thanks to Philips Super Ergo Base foot. It has a response time of 5ms, a modest brightness of 150cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 1000:1. Given the viewing angle of 160 degrees horizontally and 150 degrees vertically, and the price of the display, Philips has a 21.5″-tn panel used. Without vat, the price of the usb monitor 145 euro, and the screen would be immediately available.
