NovaLogic, the company behind the tactical shooterserie Delta Force, has Activision been sued. According to NovaLogic has Activision with Modern Warfare 3 the copyright that exists on the Delta Force series several times violated.

NovaLogic has the rights to the name Delta Force, and some of the logos related to it. The company believes that the logo of the group of protagonists in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is much similar to that of Delta Force, reports Courthouse News. Both logos show a similar design with the same elements: a knife or sword and a triangle that culminates in a lightning flash.

Prior to the legal action sent NovaLogic a few of the letters to Activision in which the company has been requested to stop violating the copyright, but Activision did not respond to this call. Activision has not yet responded to the lawsuit.

NovaLogic claims that not only the logo is a violation of copyright, but also disputes the use of the name ‘Delta Force’, that by them is registered. Within the Us army there is no department that Delta Force is called, while the name pops up in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. According to NovaLogic, the name only being one of the Delta Force games series. NovaLogic says ‘millions of dollars or more lost by the copyright infringement by Activision, though the amount that the company claims not yet published. It is also not yet clear when any trial will be held.
