Vodafone: voice minutes disappear in the long term

Mobile subscriptions with minutes to go in the long term disappear. That is to create a fact sheet that Vodafone has published with the introduction of its new subscriptions. All services would be via the data network.

The disappearance of the minutes may, however, still take some time: now the price is still largely determined by the number of call minutes. The number of sms and mms is not, however, more decisive for the price: customers can with the new plan, unlimited sms and mms, which the provider already anticipating future developments: “Vodafone gets at a part of the prijsplannen on on access based pricing. This means that customers from a certain monthly fee, get unlimited access to the use of certain services. Vodafone anticipates this on the expectation that in the longer term all services via the data network.” This implies the provider that minutes with subscriptions going to disappear.

When that is, remains unclear. But the developments in telecom go fast, finds Vodafones pricing specialist Arne Jens. “We are, after nine months with new subscriptions, just as many competitors. That the subscriptions soon no longer connecting with what customers want, indicates that the market is changing rapidly.” Two years ago, sms is still the main way of textual communication between telefoonbezitters, WhatsApp now a major role for themselves claimed.

Vodafone announced Monday new subscription plans, in which texting and unlimited, and calls to other Vodafone customers for free is of expensive subscriptions. The time of a data package with fair usage policy for 10 euro is over, so says the commercial director Bart Hofker. “Many people think that we data is much more expensive to have made, but those bundles for 10 euro can for us any more. We need to invest a lot in the network, due to the larger demand for data.”
