The MegaUpload’s lawyers argue that the American justice system refuses to make 1 million dollars from the frozen assets so that they may be evidence on the servers view. This would make the defense be severely hampered.

According to Ira Rothken, lawyer of millionaire Kim Dotcom and the other MegaUpload-defendants, justice a request by the defense to 1 million dollars of frozen bank accounts, declined. Rothken argues that the money needed is to gather evidence on the MegaUpload servers at Carpathia Hosting. It would go under other e-mails and documents.

With the 1 million dollars would defend the servers from Carpathia to want to take on. The hosting company was threatened recently all the data to erase, because the cost is too high would increase. Also after the promise that the data on the servers only for the MegaUpload lawyers would be accessed, refused justice, again the request.

Rothken argues that the united states government acts unlawfully and knowing the amount of money will not release in an attempt to the defense of MegaUpload suspects difficult. According to the lawyer, want MegaUpload the millions of gigabytes of data to store them not only in the upcoming trial to use, but this term also accessible to the public.

A spokesperson of justice mentions in a response to the concerns raised by the MegaUpload’s lawyers that the request would be unreasonable. In addition, the courts in New Zealand have to decide whether money from the frozen bank deposit can be released. It is expected that the court in mid-april at the request of the defense look.
