The production of the film that was going to be made on the basis of the BioShock franchise is still. This is evident from statements by director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo. The filmmaker gave no longer work on BioShock, that ‘on hold’ would be.

Juan Carlos Fresnadillo has left to Indie Wire know that he is no longer involved with the BioShock movie, reported Gamespot. According to Fresnadillo the movie studio responsible for the production, and the gamebedrijf that the rights of the franchise, to agree on budget and parental advisory rating for the film. As long as there is no agreement, is the production still.

It is not the first hitch in the production of the BioShock movie. The film on the basis of the successful gamefranchise of 2K Games in 2008 was announced. Gore Verbinski, maker of Pirates of the Caribbean, would be the director to do. Verbinski thanked, however, for the honour when it became apparent that the project budget was if there is a ‘PG13’movie was going to be made. Verbinski saw the only possibilities as the film an ‘R’rating should be allowed to have and wanted no compromise. From the sayings of Fresnadillo shows that there is still no solution is found in that discussion.

The guilt of the absence of a solution seems partly to lie in the ontwikkelstudio behind the BioShock games themselves. Lead developer Ken Levine showed at the end of 2011 already know a BioShock film not necessary to find. Also in October 2010 said Levine are already out against the cooperation with a film studio, though that was more focused on working on games with people from the film industry.
