Tree nanodraden make hydrogen production efficient lwa nter

Researchers from the University of California have developed a new structure for nanodraden developed in which the hydrogen effic lwa nter of water can be produced than hitherto was possible. The new structure resembles that of trees.

The research team, under the leadership of professor Deli Wang, nanodraden made in a vertical stand, and just as trees with branches. According to phd student Ke Sun is, therefore, the surface area for chemical reactions of 400,000-times magnification compared to a flat structure.

Due to this larger surface, the electrolysis of water for the production of hydrogen much faster than it can expire. The researchers have nanodraden made of silicon and zinc oxide, materials which no defect is.

With the ‘nanodradenbos’ wants to Wang’s team, ultimately working to mimic photosynthesis, like plants and trees. For this are CO2 and water from the environment and converted into hydrocarbons for fuel. The researchers have the hope that this will in the ‘near future’ is within reach.
