The delivery of the first batch of Raspberry Pi’s has been delayed by the placement of an error component. The producers of the mini-computers go the wrong type of ethernet jack on the motherboard replaced.
The Raspberry Pi Foundation shows on his blog to know that an error has been made by a wrong type RJ45 ethernet port on the compact moederbordje. Instead of “magnetic” RJ45 jacks, which with the help of a pulstransformator the circuits of the ethernetchip be secured against strains, there are by mistake by an unnamed manufacturer of non-magnetic ethernet port on the first batch of ten thousand Raspberry Pi-plates soldered on. This allows an ethernet connection suddenly fail or will be unstable.
According to Raspberry Pi attack the problems for the first batch of relatively: the erroneous ethernetjacks be removed and the appropriate ethernet ports on the motherboards are soldered will be. Presumably the orders with only a slight delay to be delivered.
But Raspberry Pi runs for the next batches of the very popular minicomputer as possible, be resistant to significant delays because the manufacturers only the faulty part in stock. It is not known whether they will be able to provide short-term replacement parts in large quantities to order from suppliers.
Update 21:32: Not the originally mentioned oem’s were responsible for the erroneous ethernetjacks, but an unnamed Chinese company. This is in the article corrected.
