Hardware manufacturer MSI has during the Cebit its latest flagship shown: an AMD video card with a Radeon HD 7970 gpu. The R7970 Lightning is currently in a prototypestadium, but must have a few weeks to purchase.
The Lightning version of the 7970-video card must be the top end of the Radeon series. The card was an MSI internally designed pcb layout, which he, inter alia, a more detailed power supply deviates from the referentieontwerp. Especially for overclockers got the Lightning extra phases and the strain is on to perform faster gpu clock speed to achieve. MSI delivers the card with a modest overclock, but the card, cooling, and power supply have lot of space for high clock speed.
The Twin Frozr IV cooling makes overclocking on air is possible, but for the records must be liquid nitrogen aangerukt. The map below is for this purpose provided with a layer of insulation for condensation to occur. The card has a GPU Reactor a stable voltage to the gpu: the Reactor is a loose pcb on the card is confirmed. The mosfets on the GPU Reactor delivering “clean” voltage to your card for more stability. In future high-end cards, the technique may have on the pcb are integrated, while it is on the cards in a slightly lower segment as an optional accessory can be supplied.
The R7970 Lightning should already be on relatively short term, perhaps over several weeks, are available. The cost of the Lightning edition compared to regular 7970 cards would be in line with the price of previous Lightning cards.
