Microsoft has released the rtm version of SQL Server 2012 is ready. Customers have until april 1 to wait on the official lwa le release, but there is already a test version released. Also, some components, such as Microsoft’s Hadoop-tools, not yet ready.
The performance would also be improved, partly due to the support for column store indexes. Such indices would be a performance gains of a factor of ten may cause so-called analytical queries and the use of star schemas. Microsoft SQL Server 2012 is also linked to its Azure cloud platform, including via the SQL Azure Data Sync tool, which database information to synchronize between a private cloud environment and the SQL servers on Microsoft’s Azure platform.
The various Hadoop components that Microsoft in the prospect proposed, are not yet all ready. The bidirectional connectors for linking to SQL Server using Apaches Hadoop framework are indeed useful, but to various nosql components, such as the Hadoop service for SQL Azure and Hadoop on Windows Server, are not yet ready. Microsoft expects 2012 still to be able to offer.
Microsoft uses a number of new bundles for SQL Server 2012. For instance, in the so-called BI implementation business intelligence tools added to the standard version. None of both versions is allowed according to the license terms to run on servers with more than sixteen processing cores. For the Enterprise edition of SQL Server 2012, per cpu core to be paid, which Microsoft at least four cores per processor. The standard version can be per-core or per-server to be paid. When the server version is still required, however, individual user licenses are closed. For virtualization uses Microsoft also separate licensing models and terms.
