‘Justice VS threatening with antitrust case against Apple and e-bookuitgevers’

The American justice system is allegedly going to be Apple and five publishers of e-books to sue for alleged price-fixing. There would be conversations taking place about a settlement, which may lead to lower e-bookprijzen leads.

The American justice system is threatening the parties with a lawsuit because of the pricing model that Apple and the publishers for the launch of the first iPad are agreed. The publishers determine on the basis of the price of the e-books, after Apple’s 30 percent safely. With this understanding in hand, stepped up to the publishers then to other sellers, such as Amazon, same model to enforce. The claim is that publishers could not allow them to e-books not for a lower amount if offer than Apple, writes The Wall Street Journal.

Previously offered publishers book sellers for about half the price, then the shops then the price might determine. Amazon was doing this by e-books cheap to offer to the sale of its Kindle reader to boost. The publishing industry would then have feared that Amazon as the main verkooppartij the price would determine, and customers can expect would be to hit low e-bookprijzen.

The American justice system would be of the opinion that the agreements of the parties to higher prices, which they antitrustwetregels have transgressed. Any settlement with the publishers might lower e-bookprijzen lead. The effect can, however, be limited, since not every publisher there is, according to the WSJ is involved. It would go to Simon & Schuster, the Hachette Book Group, Penguin Group, Macmillan and HarperCollins Publishers. The involved parties have not yet responded.
