Archos brings the Android 4.0 update for the G9 tablets from

Archos has for January promised Android Ice Cream Sandwich update to its series of G9 tablets now still available. The update is being implemented globally and is also for Dutch users immediately available.

The French manufacturer offers the new software over-the-air, but it is also possible to have the software from the Archos web site and download via a usb connection on the tablet. The ICS update brings the Android version 4.0.3 to the G9 tablets, where the manufacturer is the industry standard interface intact seems to have left.

Tablets in the G9 series from Archos are available with an 8″ or 10.1″screen. In addition, there are variants with 8, 16 and 250GB. You can choose between versions with different clock speed: 1GHz, 1.2 GHz or the 1.5 GHz version. All these variants can be equipped with the Android ICS software.

Archos had some time ago promised an ICS update to fabricate for its G9 tablets, but a promised release early in January was not met. The reason for the delay is unknown.
