US demands extradition of Dutch Megaupload-suspicious

Justice in the United States has asked for the extradition of Bram van der K., the Dutch suspect in the case against download site MegaUpload. The Dutchman is out on bail free in the country where he resides, New Zealand.

In addition to Van der K. wants the United States that MegaUpload founder Kim Dotcom is extradited, writes news agency Associated Press on the basis of the not yet published documents. The request for extradition is Friday submitted.

The request for extradition is not a surprise: Dotcom and Van der K. have been arrested at the request of the Americans. They are suspected of using MegaUpload for the illegal sharing of auteusrechtelijk protected material have facilitated and there is a lot of money to have earned. Van der K. works in MegaUpload as a programmer.

In total if the U.S. wants that the four suspects be extradited from New Zealand to the United States. It is unclear whether the land at the request. The action against the well-known download site, was in place in January in several countries at the request of the American federal police FBI.
