Samsung has a new budget model in its Galaxy line of Android smartphones announced. The Galaxy Pocket has a 2.8″screen with a resolution of 320×240 pixels and runs on a 832MHz processor with ARM11-core.
The Galaxy Pocket measures 103,7×57,5x11mm and weighs 57 grams. The 832MHz processor with ARM11-core is supposedly a Qualcomm-made Snapdragon S1 MSM7227, the processor that also runs in Samsung’s own Galaxy Ace, various Sony Ericsson smartphones from 2010 and the HTC Legend.
For the storage of photos, music and other data is 3GB of internal memory, which can be expanded via a micro-sdhc card. The internet connection is via wi-fi with support for 802.11 b/g/n standards and supports hsdpa up to 3.6 Mbps. Also has support for bluetooth 3.0 built-in. The 2.8″display is of the tn-lcd type and displays images at 320×240 pixels. Samsung wants the Galaxy Pocket that runs on Android 2.3, this spring in the Netherlands to release for a suggested retail price of 139 euro.
