The AGENCY has a Big Brother Award for its commitment to spyware, and the ‘hack back’ of botnetslachtoffers. Also Facebook, minister Edith Schippers and state secretary Fred Teeven be ‘rewarded’ with an award.
Last week the nominations for the awards for the largest privacyschenders already been announced, and Wednesday evening the award ceremony in Pakhuis de Zwijger in Amsterdam.
One of the recipients of the privacyorganisatie Bits of Freedom organised awards, in the category of “general government”, is the National Police agency, among others because of the commitment of spyware. “The German Supreme court ruled earlier on this program application as opsporingsmiddel was in conflict with the German constitution”, says the jury report.

In the category ‘companies’ should Facebook a prize. “Facebook has a questionable reputation in the field of privacy and will increasingly have the wind from the front”, writes the jury. Further wins minister Edith Schippers of health, an award for the outsourcing of the EPD companies. The audience award goes to Fred Teeven: “Fred Teeven continues to evolve each year, commitment to privacy to limit. Some privacy rules are already to the bone undressed.” A ‘special mention’ goes to the Inner company DigiNotar, which is famous all over the world after a hacker issuing fake ssl certificates forced.
