The Applied Sciences-research team of Microsoft has came up with a technique that allows users a 3d interface can operate. The technique works with a transparent oled screen from Samsung and Microsoft’s Kinect controller.
A research team from Microsoft demonstrated the new technique at the annual TechForumconferentie, where Microsoft showcases love ‘inventive’ ideas and prototypes. This new technique is also a early prototype that, as far as expected not in production.
Who the system wants to use, then places his hands behind the screen, where there is also a toetsenbordje. Because the screen is transparent, the user can then easily carry out operations with elements on the screen itself.
The Kinectcontroller of Microsoft analyzes the position and location of the hands and fingers. The fingers can then be used as the mouse pointer. The illusion of depth in the image is because the Kinect will also take place and in the direction of the eyes and head analyses, so that the image is always in the direction of the eyes is shown. If the user moves the point of view of the picture is adjusted, so that the correct perspective is maintained.
