Cooler Master shows new, silent enclosure

Cooler Master has, during the Cebit its new Silencio-housing, the 650, ge lwa site. The housing should be little noise, and has a number of high-end features, including a fan controller and hotswapbays for hdd’s.

The Silencio 650 is the latest case in Cooler Masters silent series housings, and is equipped with a sound dampening layer of insulation material on the side panels and at the top of the housing. There is room for atx motherboards and the power supply is fitted at the bottom. The 650 has room for three optical drives; the hard drive support, however, is a different story.

In the case there is space for three drives, two of them on a separate pcb connected to it. By means of a switch on the frontpanel can be chosen which drive as bootdrive. A second drivecage accommodate four additional drives; by means of a caddy can also 2,5″drives to be mounted. A last disc, number eight, in a hotswapbay to be pushed.

The cooling consists of two 120mm-intakes and a single 120mm-exhaust. Optionally, it can have a 120mm fan for the hdd cage, and a top and bottom plate are mounted. In the frontpanel, besides a fan controller and the hdd power switch, two usb 3.0 ports and audio jacks are present. The 650 should be about a hundred euros in costs.
