Darpa, the researchtak of the American defence, a robot developed 28km/you can walk away and break therefore the previous land speed record from 1989. The robot used some of the same running technique as a cheetah.
The four-legged robot is modeled on the example of a cheetah, making it also the name Darpa Cheetah has gotten. The metal beast the high speed pick up by each pass of his back to stretch and bend, just as a real cheetah does. The previous world record speed of 13km/h, was portrayed by a two-legged robot of the American MIT.
Currently, the robot is still on a treadmill with a crane, make sure that he stays in place. A hydraulic pump, which is not on the robot itself is mounted, provides the drive. Darpa hopes to have later this year a prototype to have developed that without the treadmill and carrier crane can walk.
The unit is part of the M3 project, or the “Maximum Mobility and Manipulation’, of the U.s. army. Within this project, developed systems to robots to make them for more purposes can be used.
