Sony announces two new Xperia smartphones to

Sony has their own press conference the Xperia P and Xperia U announced. Both Android smartphones are derived from the earlier announced Xperia S. Also will the Us device Xperia Ion later this year in Europe appear.

The Xperia P has a 4″screen with a resolution of 960×540 pixels. The Xperia P is Sony’s first smartphone with a processor from ST-Ericsson. The Novathor U8500 is a dualcore soc with Mali gpu and it runs on a clock speed of 1GHz.

The screen of the Xperia P has a WhiteMagic display. In this screen contain the pixels next to a red, green and blue subpixel is also a white subpixel. That boost brightness up to 900 nits. The Xperia P has a light sensor, to adjust the brightness to fit the shooting conditions. The Xperia P has, according to Sony, a unibody enclosure.

The Xperia U is the cheapest model and has a 3.5″screen with a screen resolution of 854×480 pixels. It is powered by the same Novathor U8500 soc as the Xperia P. The U has, like the S and the P has a transparent bar below the screen that serves as an antenna. When You do this, however, also serves as a notification system; the color of the bar changes when there is a notification arrives. The Xperia P and You come in the spring, but the price is not yet disclosed. At the time of release to run the smartphones on Android 2.3, but they will release an upgrade to Android 4.0.
