Philips unveils partial tv line-up for 2012

Philips has a large part of its tv line-up for 2012 have been announced. The new 7-, 6-, 4 – and 3-series are the first by the joint venture with the Chinese TPV are developed. The company keeps the new 9 – and 8-series still under the cap.

Philips is different with the naming of the new models of previous years. The first digit of the type designation corresponds to what last year was used, but instead of a number that the backlight-type, the second digit is just a zero. The last digit, ‘7’, the tv-generation of Philips and has a one-on-one relationship with the introductiejaar. The new models are under the direction of the joint venture with the Chinese partner TPV developed.

The PFL7007 is the highest model that is now being announced and what specifications are concerned, the most road of the current 8-series, including the PFL8606. So does the tv use active 3d and be fast images are smoothly displayed with Philips’ 800Hz Perfect Motion Rate-frame-interpolatietechnologie. The PFL7007 is available in the sizes 40, 46 and 55″.

Also on the level of connectivity increases Philips the specifications in the PFL 7007. So is the tv series features five hdmi ports, one more than the current 8-series, while also the number of usb 2.0 ports has been extended from two to three. Ambilight has remained the same, wi-fi is built-in and the tv features smart tv-access to the internet. Also are the speakers upgraded from 2×14 to 2x20W.

The new PFL6007 is some of the specifications more consistent with the current 7-series, including the PFL7606. The tv has passive 3d and 400Hz-PMR technology, while the tv also features Ambilight on two sides. The current PFL6606 has no Ambilight or 3d. Further, the audio upgraded from 2 x 10 – 2x12W speakers. The PFL6007 is available in the most formats of all of: 32, 37, 42, 47 and 55″.

Both the new 7 – as the 6-series has dlna support, Catch-up TV and usb recording. The bezels for these new series are substantially narrower.

Except of the PFL7007 and PFL6007 gave Philips some details of his PFL4007-series free and the company makes mention of two new 3-series. The PFL4007 as well as the current PFL6606 no 3d capability, but does have smart tv functionality and built-in wi-fi. Ambilight is missing, as well as detailed specifications. However, Philips has announced the new 4-series will appear in a 32-, 37-, 42 – and 47″version.

The PFL35xx and PFL30xx series, comes last of the new tv line-up for 2012. The first has the Smart TV platform from Philips, while the PFL30xx series that has not. 3d functionality is missing in these two low-end series, in both 1080p and 720p versions appear.

It is not known when or if Philips successors announces the current 8 – and 9-series. The company will next month, on his own annual media event, more details of the new tv line-up release.
