Opera 12 is Mozilla’s do not track feature support

Opera 12 is the do not track header that Mozilla’s Firefox browser support. This is evident from the latest test version of Opera. By a special http-header to send along, let the browser know that the user does not want to be followed.

In the test version of Opera 12, users can indicate that they do not want to be followed on the internet. Thus, they should be able to unsubscribe for the gedragsprofilering that advertising companies apply. By default, the function is disabled.

If the option is turned on, at the request of pages an http header sent along with the wish of the user indicates. The option relies on the voluntary cooperation of advertising companies. According to Opera, they are still rarely supported; later, it is determined whether the function is effective enough to stay present in the browser.

Firefox presented the feature at the beginning of last year. Opera is the only other browser which is Mozilla’s opt-out for gedragsprofilering takes over. Internet Explorer chooses for a user to put together a list of sites that the user is not allowed to follow. Google has for Chrome a plug-in introduced that a user writes for the gedragsprofilering of a large number of advertisers.
