The Korean mobieltjesmaker LG would be working on a smartphone based on Boot2Gecko, the mobile OS that consists of web api’s and is built by Firefox developer Mozilla. The unit would next week be presented.
The device is mainly aimed at developers to get apps to test that is to be made for Boot2Gecko, reports ExtremeTech. In June would be the downloadwinkel for applications for Firefox browser to open and the shop for B2G would be around the same time, the daylight should be visible. The device is expected to be completed in the coming week telecombeurs Mobile World Congress is presented.
Boot2Gecko is based on the Android kernel and similar to what Google does with Chrome OS for smartphones; the whole os works in a Mozilla browser-based web apis. The code runs locally, so the smartphone is not connected necessarily with the internet to the interface, code named Gaia, has been to operate.
LG would be one of the partners with whom Mozilla works. This Korean manufacturer sounds like a logical partner. LG has no own operating system and is often involved in the making of ontwikkelaarstoestellen. For Windows Phone and Intel’s Moblin has LG in the past, prototypes of smartphones made. LG would also be the first Android phone made, but the manufacturer blew the deal with Google before the device in production was taken.
It is unknown whether there are other partners in the project are involved. Maybe hooks providers who would like in addition to the operating systems of techgiganten as Apple, Google and Microsoft a alternative of a smaller company with a more open operating system on the market would see. Providers now have relatively little influence on how a mobile operating-system.
