A database server of a Helmondse hosting provider is cracked. One or more attackers knew access to force it to the database and the login data of many thousands of users to see. The database server would be migrated.

It comes to hosting provider, Creation Point, which include Bavaria as a customer. The attackers managed to gain access to the password of the root account to delete and to disable the firewall. This could without a password as root on the database are logged in, sign NU.nl. Dave Brommert of Creative Point confirms that the provider was fragile.

It goes according to managing director Bas Mulder of the company to have a server that is migrated would be. The data of 47 websites would be stored in the database. In the case of Bavaria went to two databases with data from respectively of 133,000 and a 41,000 customers that were accessible. It was, however, only to personal data. The other sites whose data were accessible to be smaller, as the site for Last-Minute Dining, and a number of smes.

Or the data is misused, does the company not to give, but the fear of it. There is in any case reported to the police, and the Cyber Security Center is notified, so you can read on the website of Creation Point. The access to the vulnerable server is shut down, says Mulder.
